IEP 101 breaks down IEP document, including the historical and current versions. Attendees will also learn the basics about the IEP process and parental/caregiver rights to empower parents/caregivers to be active members of the team.
Katherine Thiboutot, M.S., CCC-SLP is a licensed speech language pathologist who began working in schools in 1997. Over the years Kate has attended hundreds of IEP meetings and knows the law inside and out. It has become clear to her that special education is a game. The people who know the rules get great support. People who do not know the rules often get less than they should. Kate is finally acting upon her dream to advocate as well as working as an SLP.
