How to Protect Yourself from Your Computer

The Computer Exorcist, Marc-Anthony Arena, is back, this time as our Author-in-Residence.

Mr. Arena brings us a “Plain English” guide to navigating the ever-changing technology in our everyday lives. His presentations are accessible to anyone who wants to learn more about their devices, internet safety, smart choices in the digital world, and more!

On Tuesday, "How to Protect Yourself from Your Computer" will focus on educating yourself about digital safety, including preventing Ransomware, proper backup techniques, scam support calls, and more.

On Saturday, "Don't be Taken by Silicon Valley" will look at topics such as saving money on Internet and mobile bills, evaluating your digital choices, and recent encryption and other industry scandals.

As a tech professional in the IT industry since 2000, Marc-Anthony realized the world is full of intelligent, successful people who are just overwhelmed by technology. They suffer at the hands of condescending computer guys, pushy big box stores, and phone scammers. So he developed a method to simplify and bulletproof people's digital lives, rather than milking them for recurring fees. Apparently people enjoy saving tons of time and money!

He then wrote a book (How to Protect Yourself from Your Computer), hosted a local radio show, created The Computer Exorcist Podcast, and gives public talks, in order to explain tech concepts, online scams, and industry scandals, all in Plain English!

Both presentations are free and open to all. Registration recommended but not required.

Registration for this event has now closed.
